Bermagui Surf Life Saving Club Inc. Replacement Of Decking To Meet Building Compliance For Bushfire Areas. During the Black Summer bushfires in 2019/20 Bermagui SLSC took a lead role in the emergency response to the devastating bushfire crisis in our region. Following the Black Summer bushfires, a safety audit was undertaken to ensure that our Clubhouse  meets recommended building standards. To maintain building integrity in the event of future threat of fire and our role as a community hub, the audit recommended that the external decking be replaced with fire retardant materials meeting BAL (Bushfire Attack Level) requirements.
