Tell us about your job
I design and oversee local and global programs and campaigns to promote inclusive and equitable practices for women and girls in sport. These programs build the capacity of young people so they can lead positive change in their lives.
What about your work makes you proud?
We’re empowering young people, often from disrupted education and family backgrounds, to reach their full potential through sport and peer mentoring. We create a safety net for them to experience new things, make mistakes and learn from them. We help them identify their own strengths, values, develop their CV and their interview skills, among other things.
Why is your work important?
I’m deeply motivated by a passion for social justice and creating opportunities for young people. Sport helps develop confidence and resilience. It provides a sense of belonging and allows people of different backgrounds to connect.
