Rowing NSW 2020 Spring Regatta
Rowing NSW host the annual Spring Regatta at the Sydney International Regatta Centre on Saturday 17th October.
The Spring Regatta, formally known as the ‘Picnic Regatta’ has been a fixture on the NSWRA rowing calendar since the 1960s, some records indicate the regatta was even running as early as 1957. In the early years, the Nepean Rowing Club ran the event on the shores of the Nepean River following the decision to move championship regattas due to the increase in traffic and disruptions on the Parramatta River.
The Picnic Regatta/Spring Regatta has traditionally coincided with the beginning of the surf lifesaving season in the September/October months. Two years after the opening of the Sydney International Regatta Centre in 1996, NSWRA moved the Spring Regatta to the Olympic venue and is where the event is held to this day.
More information and entries will be announced soon. Visit Rowing NSW website for updates.
Note: Rowing NSW have announced this date as part of their draft 2020/2021 regatta calendar. "We look forward to bringing back racing to the community following the abrupt end to last season. Due to public health orders changing and restrictions on mass gatherings evolving the 2020/2021 regatta calendar is subject to change and adapted to meet these requirements and still provide safe racing opportunities. The current order of events and regatta day schedules as we known them will be revised to suit the conditions of the time. We will endeavour to advise clubs and schools of these changes with as much notice as possible."
Please note that the Venue will be closed to recreational users during this event and a $10 parking charge is payable at the gate. To minimise contact we ask that you pay via card rather than cash.
Entry to the event is free. A $10 parking fee per vehicle is payable at the gate.
