Our Lakes

At Sydney International Regatta Centre, you can be sure of a world-class rowing experience. Our waterways have been voted some of the best in the world for rowing and sprint kayaking. They’re also ideal for open water swim training via a dedicated swim lane, sailing, model boating, SUPs and everything in between.

Our lakes are available to be booked for training and casual use subject to events. All on-water activities incur a casual use fee, currently $14.50 adult, $7.60 child or $28 family and must be pre-booked and paid before entering the water. Contact us for a booking form. We recommend booking at least 3 days prior to your intended use. Please don't just come on site expecting to get on water without a booking.

Our 1500-metre Warm-Up Lake gives competitors the chance to train while a race is in progress. It also gives competitors a place to cool down after an event, ensuring minimal delays between races. The Warm-Up Lake is perfect for a range of activities that include:

  • Rowing
  • Canoeing
  • Sailing
  • Dragon Boating
  • Swimming events

Ranked one of the top rowing and sprint canoe/kayak courses in the world, the Competition Lake at Sydney International Regatta Centre offers competitors fair competition with minimal crosswind.

Features include:

  • 2300-metre length
  • Nine, 13.5-metre wide lanes for rowing, canoeing, kayaking and dragon boating
  • Consistent five-metre depth
  • Rock-coated, wave-absorbing banks
  • Surrounding native trees designed to limit cross winds.

Event officials, timing judges and commentators get a front-row seat at the Sydney International Regatta Centre. Our start and finish towers and timing huts provide a birds-eye view of competitions and feature precision timing and photo finish system. Our spectator pavilion has views of the Competition Lake and seats 1000 people.
