2021 financial assistance
Sport and recreation organisations, businesses and individuals may be eligible for a number of financial assistance measures under financial assistance packages announced by both the NSW Government and Australian Government in response to the July 2021 COVID-19 outbreak in Greater Sydney and NSW.
The NSW Government has announced a major new grants package and changes to the Dine & Discover program to help organisations and people across NSW impacted by the current COVID-19 restrictions.
The Federal Government’s COVID-19 Disaster Payment will be available from 1 July 2021 for eligible people in a Commonwealth-declared COVID-19 hotspot in Sydney.

Many government agencies, as well as not-for-profits and private sector organisations offer grants that sport and active recreation organisations can access. Grants can be a good way of getting access to funding to improve operations, subsidise access for participants, run events and develop infrastructure. Community Building Partnerships
The NSW Community Building Partnership program awards grants for community infrastructure projects.
The NSW Government is investing in infrastructure projects that deliver positive social, environmental and recreational outcomes, while promoting community participation, inclusion and cohesion.

Office of Responsible Gambling – Infrastructure Grants
The NSW Government offers grants to communities across NSW to support the building, renovation and fit-out of infrastructure. Funding is available for arts and cultural
infrastructure, sport and recreation infrastructure and projects that assist communities with essential infrastructure and disaster readiness.
Infrastructure Grants are made possible through the NSW Government’s Clubgrants Category 3 Fund, which reinvests a contribution from the state’s registered clubs gaming machine profits back into community projects.

Showground Stimulus Funding Program
As part of the NSW Government’s $2.3 billion Health and Economic Stimulus Package (COVID Stimulus), $25 million over two years has been allocated to fund maintenance and improvement works at showgrounds around the state.
The objectives of the Showgrounds Stimulus Funding Program are to:
protect public health and safety and enhance community use and experience of showgrounds
maximise opportunities for economic growth relating to showgrounds
provide facilities that support a range showground uses
promote the sustainability of showgrounds across NSW
stimulate economic growth over short-term timeframes in local economies impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic.

Clubs NSW - ClubGRANTS
ClubGRANTS is one of Australia’s largest grant programs, providing more than $100 million in cash each year to a variety of worthy causes across NSW.
Charities, sporting organisations and not-for-profit community groups are among tens-of-thousands of worthy causes funded through the program each year.
Applicants should be aware that ClubsGRANTS funding is likely to reduce in the short term as a response to economic uncertainty and the fact that clubs are not trading.

Facebook Small Business Grants programme (COVID-19)
Facebook is providing US$100 million across 30,000 eligible small businesses in more than 30 countries where Facebook has a local office (Australia included) through their Small Business Grants programme. To be eligible to apply, you must:
- Have between 2 and 50 employees
- Have been in business for over a year
- Have experienced challenges from COVID-19
- Be in or near a location where Facebook operates
