Whitewater Safety Supervisor

Working at the Penrith Whitewater Stadium is easier than you think! 

PWS requires qualified swiftwater rescuers to provide safety and rescue for a variety of whitewater activities.

Regular one-day courses in the qualifications below are offered at the Venue. Fees apply.

To work as a whitewater safety supervisor at PWS, you will need to hold one of the above qualifications.

Kayak Instructor

PWS offers a range of kayak instruction programs from flatwater to whitewater. Our most regular form of instruction is on flatwater.

To become a flatwater kayak instructor at PWS you must be able to paddle a whitewater kayak proficiently on flatwater and grade 1 whitewater, with the ability to roll. 

Learn to kayak by joining our 4-day Level 1 & 2 Quickstart course run over two weekends. The price is $900.00 per person.

Once you have these skills, you must then obtain the Paddle Australia Flatwater Instructor qualification to work at PWS.

Raft Guide

The most popular activity at PWS is whitewater rafting. Our whitewater rafting trips require qualified raft guides to lead a crew of up to 8 people down our grade 3 whitewater channel.

Learn to be a raft guide by completing a 6-day Raft Guide course at PWS.

If deemed competent, you will be provided with the following qualifications:

PWS also accepts the International Rafting Federation Raft Guide certification.
