Combatant registration
The Combat Sports Authority of NSW grants registration in Combatant, Promoter and Industry Participant classes in accordance with the Combat Sports Act 2013.
Applications for registration classes, including the renewal of classes, must be made through the Combat Sports Authority of NSW Combat Sports Registration System.
The Authority, with the approval of the Minister, has determined (under section 10 of the Act) the following classes of combatants for which persons may be registered under the Act (and separate professional and amateur classes have been determined for each style)—
Boxing - persons who engage in boxing (fist fighting) in any of its styles;
Kick Boxing - persons who engage in kick boxing in any of its styles;
Muay Thai - persons who engage in muay thai in any of its styles;
Mixed Martial Arts - persons who engage in mixed martial arts in any of its styles, including Pankration;
Other Martial Arts - persons who engage in any other form of martial arts that is not one of the forms listed above and is not excluded from the definition of combat sport under the Act through clause 4 of the Combat Sports Regulation 2014.
A new and improved Combat Sports Registration System is now available for combat sports applicants and registered persons to access.
There is no change to the way you access the new Combat Sports Registration System as it is still through Service NSW. The improved system has a fresh new look and an updated interface, to allow for a smooth and easy online user experience.
Persons that were previously registered under the Act through the previous registration system should continue using their recorded MyServiceNSW Account email address to log into the new registration system. If you need to update your MyServiceNSW Account email address, contact the Combat Sports Authority of NSW or call 13 13 02. If you have not previously registered, you can use your existing MyServiceNSW Account details or create a MyServiceNSW Account on the Service NSW website, to complete an online application.
You may need to provide some basic personal identification details to create a MyServiceNSW Account, including a mobile number. Once established, a MyServiceNSW Account can be used for a range of NSW Government transactions, so we recommend that you save these details for future use.

DVS is a secure online system managed by the Department of Home Affairs. The DVS validates government-issued identity documents directly with the organisation of issue. This allows for immediate verification without the need for you to provide a copy of your identity documents to any other party.
You can learn more about DVS at https://www.idmatch.gov.au/our-services
Document verification is recommended for Australian citizens and residents. During the online application you enter the details of your identity documents. The details of those documents are checked against other government records using the Document Verification Service (DVS).
You’ll need to provide 2 documents from list 1, or 1 document from list 1, plus 1 document from list 2.
List 1:
Australian driver licence

Medicare card
Veteran cards (Veteran Repatriation Heath Card, Veteran Pensioner Concession Card or

During the online application you’ll upload 3 different types of certified and current identity documents from the list below.
