Industry Participant and Promoter Registration
The Combat Sports Authority of NSW grants registration in Combatant, Promoter and Industry Participant classes in accordance with the Combat Sports Act 2013.
Applications for registration classes, including the renewal of classes, must be made through the Combat Sports Authority of NSW Combat Sports Registration System.
The Authority has determined (under sections 4 and 6 of the Act) industry participant means any of the following persons, whether or not they are employed or engaged on a full-time basis and whether or not they receive payment or other consideration for the activity concerned:
- an individual who does any of the following (a trainer)—
- supervises the training or instruction of a combatant or who accompanies a combatant into or onto the contest area to give advice or assistance during a combat sport contest,
- assists a combatant under the supervision or on the advice of a person mentioned in subparagraph (i),
- assists a person mentioned in subparagraph (i) in the preparation of combatants;
- an individual who determines the points scored by each combatant in a combat sport contest (a judge);
- an individual who regulates the number and length of rounds, and the interval between rounds, of a combat sport contest (a timekeeper);
- an individual who enforces the rules relating to a combat sport during the combat sport contest (a referee);
- an individual who acts on behalf of a promoter to arrange combat sport contests between particular combatants (a match-maker);
- a person who undertakes to represent the interests of a combatant in procuring the engagement of the combatant in a combat sport contest or who directs or controls the combat sport activities of any combatant (a manager);
- Promoter, of a combat sport contest, means the person who has effective control of the promotion of the contest.
A new and improved Combat Sports Registration System is now available for combat sports applicants and registered persons to access.
There is no change to the way you access the new Combat Sports Registration System as it is still through Service NSW. The improved system has a fresh new look and an updated interface, to allow for a smooth and easy online user experience.
Persons that were previously registered under the Act through the previous registration system should continue using their recorded MyServiceNSW Account email address to log into the new registration system. If you need to update your MyServiceNSW Account email address, contact the Combat Sports Authority of NSW or call 13 13 02. If you have not previously registered, you can use your existing MyServiceNSW Account details or create a MyServiceNSW Account on the Service NSW website, to complete an online application.
You may need to provide some basic personal identification details to create a MyServiceNSW Account, including a mobile number. Once established, a MyServiceNSW Account can be used for a range of NSW Government transactions, so we recommend that you save these details for future use.
