About the project

The Carss Park Pool Project will deliver a modern, outdoor, eight lane, 50 metre swimming pool with a swim wall, a 20 x 10 metre Learn to Swim pool and ancillary facilities that provide a safe, fit for purpose swimming facility for the local community.

Funding for the project is provided by the NSW Government , Georges River Council and the Commonwealth Government. 

Scope

The project scope includes:  

  • 50 metre x 8 lane (20m wide), heated outdoor swimming pool, with swim wall to allow the pool to be divided into two 25 metre pools.
  • 20 metre x 10 metre, shaded and heated outdoor Learn to Swim pool, with accessible ramped entry and swimming ledge.
  • Toilets, change rooms with lockers, family spaces and a shop/kiosk.

Latest News
  • Delivery of the Carss Park Pool project is progressing well, with key achievements to date including:
    • Completion of the Review of Environmental Factors (REF), which is now pending approval.
    • Completion of the facility design.
    • Finalisation of the tender package for the engagement of a construction contractor is nearing completion, with appointment of the successful contractor and commencement of works targeted for mid 2026.
  • The new Carss Park Pool is scheduled to open to the public in late 2027.

  • Operational testing and readiness activities
  • Pools open for public use.
