Winter Warrior 2026 returns in August for a 15km race that features more than 25 obstacles including mud pits, log carries, slip & slide and paddle. Primary school students are to join secondary students separately to take on the challenging course for the first time.
The challenging course will allow students to put their strength, stamina and teamwork to the test.
Event information
Lake Keepit Sport and Recreation Centre’s popular adventure race returns in August with primary school students to join secondary students to take on the challenging course for the first time.
- Inaugural Rising Warrior primary school division:
- Tuesday, 11 August.
- Tuesday, 11 August.
- Winter Warrior secondary school student division:
- Thursday, 13 August.
Registrations open Monday, 30 March and schools can register on the Lake Keepit Sport and Recreation centre page on the Office of Sport website.
Who can enter
The event is open to all primary and secondary students in NSW. Participants must form a team of 6 across three divisions – boys, girls and mixed – for the title of Winter Warrior and Inaugural Rising Warrior.
The course
The challenging course will test the strength, stamina and teamwork of participants with a variety of obstacles including:
- 5km run
- Mud pit
- Downhill mountain biking
- Long distance carry
- Initiatives
- Slip 'n slide
- Spartan spear toss
- Water crossing
- Long distance paddle
Prizes
The winners of each division will receive a medal, including:
- Boys open
- Girls open
- Mixed open
There are prizes for the best dressed team.
