The Duke of Edinburgh's International Award – Australia (NSW) offers a range of events for Award Centres, Awards Leaders and Participants to gain insights on how the Award operates and to share their experiences. Events include Gold Award ceremonies, networking events, information sessions, training and program journeys.

Gold Award Ceremony

When a Participant’s Gold Award has been achieved they are invited to attend a Gold Award Ceremony. Hosted by the Office of Sport, ceremonies are attended by the Vice Regal Patron of The Duke of Edinburgh’s International Award – Australia (NSW).

Award Leaders and Senior Officers are also invited to attend the ceremony.


New to 2024, the Duke of Ed NSW Division team will host a series of interactive workshops for Award Leaders to tackle common questions and better connect our Award Leader community. To register for a workshop Award Leaders must use their unique login to access the Duke of Ed Learning Locker.

Award Leader training

The Duke of Ed team are committed to providing Award Leaders with the necessary training and resources to support their delivery of the Award. Award Leaders are provided with a unique login to the Office of Sport's Duke of Ed Award Leader Learning Locker that includes access to mandatory training and other useful resources. Mandatory training includes:

Award Leader Level 1

Level 1 is self-paced online learning and includes an induction and overview of the Award.

Award Leader Level 2

Level 2 is interactive structured training and builds on the learnings from Level 1 providing Award Leaders with the information and resources to effectively deliver the Award.
