Duke of Ed events


The Duke of Edinburgh's International Award – Australia (NSW) offers a range of events for Duke of Ed Centres, Leaders and young people to gain insights on how the Duke of Ed operates and to share their experiences. Events include Gold Duke of Ed Receptions, networking events, information sessions, training and program journeys.

Gold Duke of Ed Reception

When a Registered User's Gold Level has been achieved, they are invited to attend a Gold Duke of Ed Reception. Hosted by the Office of Sport, receptions are attended by the Vice Regal Patron of The Duke of Edinburgh’s International Award – Australia (NSW).

Duke of Ed Leaders and Senior Officers are also invited to attend the reception.

Duke of Ed Leader training

The Duke of Ed team are committed to providing Duke of Ed Leaders with the necessary training and resources to support their delivery of the framework. Duke of Ed Leaders are provided with login details to the appropriate training platforms to access to mandatory training and other useful resources.

Before commencing training follow these steps to become a Duke of Ed Leader:

  1. Register as a Duke of Ed Leader through the Online Record Book (ORB)
  2. Once authorised, the NSW Division will email you details to register and complete mandatory training

Mandatory training includes:
Duke of Ed Leader Level 1
Duke of Ed Leader Level 2

Duke of Ed Leader Level 1

Level 1 is self-paced online learning and includes an induction and overview of Duke of Ed.

Duke of Ed Leader Level 2

Level 2 is interactive structured training and builds on the learnings from Level 1 providing Duke of Ed Leaders with the information and resources to effectively deliver the Framework.
