
Member Protection Information Officers (MPIO) have an important role to play at all levels of sport. The MPIO provides information about rights, responsibilities and options to an individual making a complaint or raising a concern in sport. MPIO training is currently free and involves two components.
You must complete both (1) and (2) to complete MPIO training:
1. MPIO eLearning
• Must be completed prior to participating in the online workshop (see below).
• This is a self-guided online course, done in your own time
• Accessed via the Sport Integrity Australia (SIA) eLearning hub, SIA Edge. You will need to create a profile to access the course via https://elearning.sportintegrity.gov.au

2. Online workshop (webinar)
• Two-hour interactive session, with other sport club representatives
• Delivered by trained Office of Sport staff
• Register via the “Book now” link on this page
Webinar details
• The webinar link and Participant workbook will be emailed to participants in the week prior to the start date.
• Participants will require reliable internet access with sound and mircophone.
Workshop topics include:
• Relevant policies and procedures
• MPIO roles and responsibilities
• Conflict of interest and impartiality
• Trauma Informed Practice
• Listening and responding effectively
• Communication and promotion
• Next steps action list
Upon completion of Parts 1 and 2, participants can download a certificate of completion from SIA Edge.
