Sports clubs should be places that are healthy, safe and family-friendly. Clubs need to put in place proactive strategies to manage alcohol responsibility and minimise any potential harm.

What club committees can do

There are 8 key steps club committees should follow to create safe and fair clubs. These are essential foundations to responsible alcohol management and other issues.

Specifically, when it comes to alcohol also consider:

  • Fully understand and abide by your legal responsibilities if serving alcohol. Go to the NSW Office of Liquor and Gaming
  • Sign up to the Good Sports program
  • Lead by example and work to create a culture that prioritises health, safety and wellbeing at all times.
