The future of sport is evolving and the demand for smart, skilled and ambitious young women in the sports industry has never been higher. The Championing Her Future: Careers for Girls in Sport Summit is a dynamic event designed to equip high school teachers, career guidance counsellors, universities, sports industry, people and culture managers and corporates with the tools, insights, and connections to inspire and support young girls in pursuing diverse careers in sport. 

Sport is no longer just about competing on the field. It’s a dynamic and multidisciplinary industry with high-growth career opportunities across business, technology, media, design, health and leadership.  

Hear from top industry experts, meet inspiring women who are leading change and gain valuable insights into emerging career pathways, job trends and emerging opportunities.

Social researcher and futurist Ashley Fell will provide an overview of the key megatrends transforming the workplace for Gen Alpha and Gen Z. Drawing on McCrindle’s data-driven insights, Ashley will deliver a forecast of the careers of the future and how we get our girls ready to thrive in this shifting landscape.

The Office of Sport will share insights from recent focus groups with girls and young women, revealing their experiences navigating career choices, transitioning from school and what they want for their future careers. Their voices offer powerful guidance on how we can better support the next generation of leaders in sport.

In this session we will discuss how to create supportive pathways that help empower girls to navigate a plan for their future success in sport careers. 

We’ll identify the barriers and discuss how we can collaborate to open more doors for women in the sport sector.

In this session, we’ll spotlight programs that are sparking girls' passion to pursue diverse and fulfilling careers in sport. Holly Bailey and Alex Butt will share the inspiration behind their initiatives, celebrate their successes, and discuss what’s next in their journey to empower sporty careers.

OUTER SPACE TO OUT OF THE BOX: INSPIRED THINKING - 2:00pm- 2:45pm 

We know the value girls can bring to careers in sport — but how do we truly connect with them and inspire their journeys?

From the outer galaxies of space, this session will explore proven innovative ways to inspire girls to believe in themselves, pursue their passions and reach for the stars.  Together, we will test creative concepts, share ideas and discuss how we change the game for our women and girls.
